I love this product! I used BioSilk for years (when I could afford it) and loved the way it left my hair shiny and silky. But it's ridiculously expensive and I don't know if it's a heat protection product. This is the best of both worlds. It provides shine and protects against the heat. It smells great and leaves your hair nice and silky. I've used it after washing my hair and before flat ironing and as an every day heat protection.

It's not heavy and oily, just the perfect amount of protection. I LOVE this and have found it sold at Walmart, Walgreens (which for some reason is really stepping up it's ethnic hair products, yay!) and here on Amazon.

I buy from Amazon all the time and this is my first review. because I am completely in love with this product. It is amazing. I have very thick and wavy long hair, and I only need about a nickel size drop for all my hair, and there is enough product to last a very long time. The quality is amazing for the price, I haven't used any hair product that has done everything I needed it to and more. It smooths and shines your hair without leaving any greasy residue, and it smells really wonderful. I would highly recommend this over any other heat protecting spray. It really goes above and beyond and is such a good value.

Positive:
Smells really nice
Very easy to apply on hair evenly
My hair has gotten better looking when I apply this before blow drying
No split ends so far but I didn't have any before I used this product either
Good size and cheap

negatives:

BE CAREFUL HOW MUCH YOU APPLY, IT WILL MAKE YOUR HAIR LOOK SUPER GREASY

This isn't the first heat protector I bought and some others were not as greasy as this one. I think it delivers higher quality though and does a better job than the non-greasy ones. It's also not greasy looking if you put in a SMALL amount. Again, really make sure you put like a nickel to quarter size amount first and then start slowly and small from there. Over all it's a pretty good product that I'll most likely purchase again.

For those of you writing reviews of this product after just a few uses....I bought this product because I was excited that it might let me go longer between colorings. I also trusted john frieda products because I've used the sheer blonde shampoo and conditioner for years. In the beginning, It did lighten my hair, but was similar to, but a little more subtle than 'sun in's' orangish tone. At first I was semi-pleased with the results. However, after finishing the first bottle of this product my hair began to snap off at the roots/part leaving 1-2 inch pieces. I suppose i really should have known better..the instructions say, "the more heat you use, the greater the lightening effects. Plus it contains hydrogen peroxide. Apparently, peroxide lightens the hair to a lighter shade by breaking down the melanin in the hair shaft. Peroxide also weakens the hair shaft, eventually leading to extreme breakage. I loved this product when I first started it I had beautiful healthy hair, I thought I would never have to dye my hair again but boy was I SO wrong :( After about a month of using this I noticed my hair looked a little brassy so I told my fiance that I need to pick up some bleach for my hair. It all started out normal mixing up the bleach then applying it to my hair and I waited my normal amount of time. Then I hopped into the shower to wash it out and as I started to scrub CHUNKS started to fall into the tub, my long beautiful hair being swept down the drain!!! I got out and looked at my head and noticed that my hard literally MELTED off where I had applied that stuff (mostly on my part line) and what was left of the hair o n my head that had been sprayed lost ALL off its elasticity (the hair underneath was still healthy FYI)! I naturally have dark brunette hair, but I can't help love how blonde brightens my face. I have only used this product once and noticed a lightening in my roots already. ( I have been told that my hair grabs on to color well -Just FYI if it doesn't work THAT quickly for you ) If you go to the John Frieda Website, they have a great tutorial about how to use this product. My hairdresser is gonna lose money, but I will be saving a lot. The hydrogen peroxide definitely is what highlights the hair, but there are other protective oils,etc that make this product worthwhile to me.

Ingredients Water, Propylene Glycol, Cyclomethicone, Dimethiconol, Dimethicone, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Trimethylsilylamodimethicone, Propylparaben, Polyacrylamide, Methylparaben, Fragrance, Diazolidinyl Urea.

Directions After cleansing with WEN Cleansing Conditioner, apply appropriate amount of the WEN Styling Creme to the mid-shaft and ends of soaking wet hair. Style as desired. For fine hair you should use 1-2 pumps. For medium to coarse hair you should use 2-4 pumps. For coarser/ethnic/curly hair you should use 4-8 pumps, as well as mixing in a few drops of desired Bath, Body & Hair Oil. Prior to towel drying to help avoid frizz, we recommend applying the Styling Creme immediately after your leave-in conditioner while still in the shower. Helpful hint: Use either paper towels or cotton pillowcases to squeeze out extra water. Use a half of a pump to dry, styled hair to calm fly-aways. I am very glad I didn't read the 1-star review before I started using these products; I really don't know what those folks are talking about. I have fine hair, and I used the cleansing conditioner as instructed--it is marvelous. It is the only product I have ever found that completely tames fly-aways and frizzies, and it increased the body at the same time. It is NOT greasy--in fact, I follow the instructions and add a little product with some of the styling creme, combing it through my hair before I blow dry. It is expensive, but as far as I am concerned, it's worth its weight in gold!

I an a black woman and I like to wear my hair natural. Over the years I have tried every product I could to controll my hair. I think I could have bought a house with the money I've spent on hair care products. Thank goodness I did'nt give up and tried this product. Finally I have found a product that works for me. It mositurizes without a sticky or oily feel. My hair can be touched without coming out with a hand full of oil. Its soft and shinny and moisturized. All this, after only one week. Love it!
